  1. Legal Structure: The Ackerman Foundation operates as a non-profit organization incorporated under the laws of New York State. We adhere to the statutes outlined in the New York Nonprofit Corporation Law (N-PCL), which provides the foundational framework for our activities and operations.
  2. Board of Directors: Our Board of Directors stands as the guiding force behind our foundation. Comprising individuals with diverse expertise and backgrounds, our board members steer the strategic direction of the Ackerman Foundation, award grants, and ensure alignment with regulatory standards.
  3. Governance Policies: The Ackerman Foundation has established robust governance policies to uphold high standards of integrity and accountability. These policies cover areas such as conflict of interest mitigation, investment strategies, grantmaking protocols, and ethical conduct. Adherence to these policies reflects our commitment to transparency and to earning the trust of our stakeholders.
