Through thoughtful planning and strategic funding, The Ackerman Foundation was established to support worthwhile programs and initiatives that make a positive difference in our community.

Genesis/History

The Ackerman Foundation, Inc., came into being in late 2021 as local businessman David M. Ackerman made plans to retire from the accounting firm he joined and later led for more than 50 years.

David Ackerman, always a “people person,” speed dial and his headset maximized his contact with dozens of friends and clients.

Governance

The Ackerman Foundation is registered as a non-profit corporation with the State of New York and its affairs are managed by a Board of Directors whose members serve two-year terms.

Board Members

The Ackerman Foundation’s Board of Directors is made up of six members. Members serve without compensation.
